Seat durability test:

Through the seat loading pad, a force of 950N is repeatedly applied vertically downward to the seat loading point, which is determined by the template. The number of loading times is as specified in Table B.1, and the loading frequency does not exceed 40 times per minute.

At the first and last loading, the distance from the lowest point of the loading pad to the ground is measured respectively, and the difference between the two numbers is the test seat displacement.

At the end of the test, check the overall structure of the sample, record and evaluate.

Chair back durability test

Place the block behind the two rear legs of the chair or stool, and then apply a force of 950N vertically to the seat loading point, which is determined by the template. Then, through the back loading pad, a force of 330N is repeatedly applied to a part at a lower position in one of the following two positions; the back loading point determined by the template or 100mm from the upper edge of the back on the longitudinal axis of the back. If the chair tipped over during the test, the force applied should be reduced to a degree that just prevents the chair or stool from tipping forward, and the actual force applied should be recorded. The number of loading times is as specified in Table B.1. The loading frequency shall not exceed 40 times per minute.

Note: The loading cycle of the seat surface load for the seat surface durability test and the backrest durability test is the same. The two tests can be combined into one test for joint performance. In each loading/unloading cycle, the seat surface should be loaded first and the backrest should be loaded later; the backrest should be unloaded first and the seat surface should be unloaded later.

If the chair is equipped with a spring rocking base with adjustable tension, the spring tension should be adjusted to the midpoint of the adjustable range during the test.

When testing a stool or a chair with a very low backrest, the force should be applied horizontally backward to the midpoint of the front edge of the seat surface. For four-legged stools with asymmetric seat surfaces in the longitudinal and transverse directions, load along the longitudinal and transverse symmetry axes of the seat surface with half the number of loading times, and for three-legged stools, load along the two main symmetry axes.

After the test, check the overall structure of the test, and record and evaluate it.
